Routes & Chartpoints

Q. I wish to open and edit a route database, but all the buttons to do this are greyed out.

A. To prevent any unintended changes to your route database (for example, when connected to autopilot) route databases are now ‘locked’.  To change any aspect of a route database, you need to verify 3 things:

  1.   Make sure you have clicked the Edit button on the Route panel – this button is an ON/OFF switch which locks and unlocks the database.
  2. The ‘Lock’ box located on the Monitor panel must be unchecked to disable the Automatic Leg Advance or uncheck the “Auto leg advance” of the Monitoring tab under Route\Options.
  3. Autopilot must be switched Off on the Navigator menu.

For further explanation, please see the User Guide Chapter 6.

Q. How do I name a route waypoint?

A. Route waypoints created without a name can now be named from the route side panel. Display the waypoints tab on the Route side panel and click Edit (if locked). Click the waypoint name field in waypoints and type in a name. Click Apply to save the name.

Q. I have opened a chartpoint database, but I cannot create new chartpoints within this database?

A. To prevent unintended changes to a chartpoint database the database is ‘locked’.  Click on the Edit button to enable new chartpoints to be added to an existing chartpoint database.

Q. I have typed in a chartpoint name and other details, but they were not saved?

A. After naming each chartpoint or route, you need to click the Apply button.

Q. How can I delete a route?

A. First ensure that you have opened the route database and have pressed the edit mode (at the route panel.)  Select the route you wish to delete.  Click on the Del button at the bottom of the side panel.

Q. How can I delete route, chartpoint or log databases?

A. You can delete a route, chartpoint or log database from within Navmaster. For example, if you wish to delete a chartpoint database, select File\Open, click the chartpoint symbol. Select the database you wish to delete. Select Tools\Delete.

Q. How do I remove the yellow boxes from the chart, after using the Range and Bearing tool?

A To remove the Range and Bearing information, either click F2 or click the refresh button, which you can place on any toolbar for quick access.
