Position
Plotting
Q. Why
doesnt my boats track appear on the chart I can only
see its position?
A. To display
your boats track, go to the Navigator menu, select Options\General
and click on Past Track.
Q. Why does
my vessel go to the edge of the chart before changing?
A. Autoscroll
options allow you to set the maximum amount of chart ahead ( or astern)
of the vessel and to maintain a minimum look-ahead distance within a chart
window. Please refer to chapter 9 in the User Guide for more information.
Q. Why cant
I switch Autopilot on?
A. Make sure
that the Edit button on the Route panel is not depressed, i.e., it is
not greyed out. As a safety feature, it is not possible to edit a route
and use autopilot at the same time.
Q. How can
I export a passage plan?
A.
Navmaster can now export passage plans to applications such as Microsoft
Word, Excel and Access (as well as other formats). This gives you the
ability to edit and save passage plans with your chosen software package.
Simply press the Export button (on plan page) after you have calculated
the passage plan and follow the instructions on the screen.
Q.
How do I view two different charts at once?
A.
You can view any number of chart windows within Navmaster. The default
setting is three windows. Select Window\Tile Vertically. This will
tile the windows vertically. Options to cascade or tile horizontally are
available.
Q.
How do I change the size of the boat position indicator?
A. Go to
the Vessel menu then Options\Overlays and select the vessel size.
Q. I am going
on a 4-day cruise and wish to have a continuous log of the journey, how
can I do this?
A. To provide
a continuous log, establish a log as normal. The next day when you wish
to continue your log, open the existing log. File\Open\Log database.
Check the Append box at the bottom left corner. Click OK.
