Navmaster HASP dongle recognition
Symptom
On starting Navmaster, you get a message 'Unable to locate haspds.windows.dll' or 'Unable to locate aksubs.sys'. Usually this occurs with USB keys.
Probable Reason
The updated HASP drivers are not installed on the PC following a change of PC, a change of security key from parallel to USB or an upgrade/new installation of Navmaster. Follow the instructions below to install new drivers.
- Type the following address - www.pcmaritime.co.uk/public - into your browser (or click this link). You will see a list of files to download.
- Select Hinstall.exe which is a self-extracting zip executable file containing new HASP drivers
- If Navmaster is on the computer you have used to connect to the web, then run the Hinstall.exe. Otherwise, save it to a temporary folder and copy to the computer used for Navmaster, then run it.
- By default the Hinstall.exe will try to extract the files to C:\ (although you can change this). The files will be extracted to a sub-directory "Hinstall. For example, C:\Hinstall. Click 'Unzip' to extract the files.
- Locate the sub-directory "Hinstall" in Windows Explorer, open it, right-click on Hinstall.exe and select Send To\Desktop (create Shortcut).
- Close, return to your Desktop and find the newly created icon "Shortcut to Hinstall.exe"
- Right-click on the 'Shortcut to Hinstall.exe' icon, select Properties, and in the Target line place your cursor at the end of the text and enter one space followed by -i (small dash with the letter i - must be lower case)
- The Target line should now read C:\HInstall\hinstall.exe -i
Then click OK.
- Double-click on the hinstall icon, this will install the new drivers to the PC. A dialogue will be displayed indicating successful installation.
