PC Maritime Engine Room Simulators bought by Petrobras

Petrobras Transportes SA, the Brazilian oil major, has purchased a full suite of
Type Approved engine room simulators from PC Maritime in a deal worth over £30,000.
The simulators are to be donated to the Brazilian Merchant Navy School in Belem.
As the future employer of merchant navy officers Petrobras Transportes is concerned with the quality and professionalism of their training. Mr Gilmar Butelli, Senior Engineer in charge of IT Coordination for Petrobras's fleet and shore offices, said:

"PC Maritime's engine room simulators will complement Brazilian engineer officers' training during their four year graduate course, giving them the required skills in diesel engines, engine room control centres and auxiliary equipment. As the major employer of graduates from Belem School, Petrobras Transportes is investing hard to improve the professionalism of training in Brazilian marine schools using PC Maritime's Type-Approved simulators."

Petrobras Transportes SA is responsible for oil transportation throughout Brazil by land and by sea. It operates 13,000 km of pipeline, 23 oil terminals and a fleet of 53 tankers, the largest fleet in the Southern Hemisphere.
PC Maritime specialises in PC-based training and navigation solutions for the marine industry, and is an international digital chart agent.
