OSG Ship Management install Navmaster ECDIS on 20 tankers.

OSG Ship Management (UK) Ltd has decided to fit Navmaster ECDIS systems on board 20 tankers following shipboard trials and a competitive bidding process. The turnkey contract to supply and install these systems has been placed with Lilley & Gillie as agents for PC Maritime's well-established Navmaster product.

Of the 20 vessels three are VLCCs, one is a Suezmax, four are existing Aframaxes, four are newbuild Aframaxes and eight are Panamax vessels.

Announcing the contract Lilley & Gillie's Managing Director, Glenn Heathcote, said:

“   We provided OSG with the opportunity to trial a Navmaster system on board its 112,056dwt Aframax tanker Overseas Shirley for a period of six months.

Feedback from the master of Overseas Shirley was, we know, positive because after the trial unit was removed from his bridge, he made it clear that he wanted a permanent Navmaster system installed as soon as possible.
  ”

In addition to the supply and installation of the Navmaster systems, on-board training is being provided by Lilley & Gillie and the contract includes a five-year support package.

Following trials on board the 112,056dwt tanker Overseas Shirley, Lilley & Gillie has won a contract to provide PC Maritime ECDIS systems to be fitted on 20 tankers operated by OSG Ship Management (UK) Ltd, including Overseas Shirley and her sistership, the 112,200dwt tanker Overseas Josefa Camejo.
