PC Maritime launches new low-cost engine room simulator. |

PC Maritime have announced the latest Unitest MED3D engine room simulator, comprising a 4-stroke medium speed main engine, three diesel engine generators and controllable pitch propeller. It is the first PC-based simulator on the market to train students in modern computer-controlled engine room operation. “ This is a major new product with incredibly lifelike graphics which can run on a standard PC ” says marketing director Anne Edmonds.

It is a complete training product on its own and it can be used by colleges who have large simulator installations for low-cost introductory training.
The system simulates main engine, controllable pitch propeller, reduction gear, fuel system, steering gear, cooling system, lubricating system compressed air system, steam system sanitary water and bilge and sewage treatment plant. Multi-channel digital sound effects include engine sound correlated with engine speed, a diesel generator starting and running, open indicator valve sound, alarm and machine telegraph buzzers.
